Rte 101 North in California More

After Norm fished in the Eel River,  and I did some watercolors, we headed north on Rte 101 to Eureka, Crescent City, the Pacific Coast. Then Rte 199 towards Oregon.

Typical CA beach. We watched a surfer trying to ride a wave

The sun came out and we were in Oregon!

I took a ton of photos but only added 45 here! Enjoy What a beautiful, relaxing enjoyable day. We stopped a lot along the way. We have a nice green campground for tonight here in O'Brien Oregon.

Point Reyers and the Lighthouse

We took the dogs to see the sunset at Reyes Point tonight. It turned out to be quite a bit farther than we expected. (20 miles or so) It was way out there- past 7 huge dairy farms and lots of bare rolling hills. Beautiful views of the ocean from way up on the cliffs. We saw several Mule Deer looking right at us. Then we saw a group of 7 large Elk - with full antlers. The leader was so magestic and tall. The dogs went wild. Since the Lighthouse Access Road was closed (at 4:30), we walked a few miles out to the far end to see the lighthouse and all.We did get to see the sunset (very nice) but we missed getting dinner at this restaurant we wanted to try because it took us so long to get back (we didn't get back to Olema until just past 9:00). Fun day- but a full one. Muir Woods (short visit) and then San Francisco and then Point Reyes. Night. Night.

Wild Iris

A view of North Beach and South Beach (both are accessible by dirt roads)

Algae on the rocks up high

The gate was closed to walk the 300 steps down. we were ok with that, as we had already walked quite a bit.

Our phone ran out of battery and we missed the actual setting!

After the sunset the walk back was really pretty
